Do Something New, New Zealand Campaign
In May of this year, Tourism New Zealand launched the ‘Do Something New, New Zealand’ campaign. Its aim, to encourage Kiwis to challenge their preconceived notions about what a holiday in New Zealand could look like, to abandon the mundane and explore their country like never before. This inspiring sentiment led us at Criffel Station down a rabbit hole of self-reflection surrounding our products and what we could offer to facilitate this exploration. The result? Our new Henry’s Hut Heli Experience.
Just ten minutes’ drive from Wanaka, a Criffel Station experience promises moments of grandeur and awe alongside real insights into what life is like on the land, now and in the past. From arid flatlands to green rolling hills, and onto a sweeping mountain range. This is a property well known in the area but one which few have experienced in depth.
The High Country Heli Hike invites guest to witness some of the best views that beautiful Lake Wanaka has to offer while exploring many distinct points of interest across this stunning landscape on a privately guided tour high onto the hilltops via land and sky. Immerse yourself in the landscape with a visit to our exclusive historic gold mining site, a significant place in Central Otago gold mining history. Take in your surroundings on a hour long hike to Henry’s Hut, a quaint high-country hut perched 1300m above sea level on the tops of the Criffel Range.
Once there indulge in a gourmet picnic hamper including local produce and wine from the region. Fill your water bottle up from a nearby spring as you witness the awe-inspiring panoramic views, spanning from Roys Peak across to Lake Hawea. Enter the hut and snuggle up by the cozy potbelly fireplace before your scenic helicopter descent.
This experience is priced from $3950 incl GST for up to 4 people. Please allow 3.5 hours for this experience.
This is a land like no other. It is a land to explore. This is Criffel Station.
